   2007-10-08 - The site is back online and is fully functional ! Yesterday some hacker (read: "lamer", "looser", who can not come up with something smarter to do) broke into our server and modified some pages. This caused visitors' browsers to crash when they accessed these pages. I have cleaned everything and notified my hosting provider. They have been very helpful and are investigating this issue. As it was mentioned above, the site is up and running fine, all sections are fully accessible. Thanks for your patience !!!

   2007-10-06 - Dear visitors, I have a very good surprise for you. I finally purchased a turntable and encoded one very beautiful Russian fairy tale, "Аленький цветочек", written by С. Т.    2007-08-15 - MAJOR NEWS !! I have re-written the photo gallery system entirely. Now it is completely database-driven and can support any number of customized galleries. I have also added 883 pictures from my most recent trip to Russia. They are all high resolution and relatively high quality. There are some pictures of Moscow, the city of Kaluga and some very beautiful villages. You can save the ones you like on your computer and use them as wallpapers. Also, my best friend from Moscow, who is a photographer, offered his collection of pictures of Moscow and some macro or close-range shots. He will open his gallery very soon.    2007-04-29 - I have added one of the most beautiful and touching Russian waltzes - "На сопках Манчжурии". This waltz was written in 1904-1905 by И. А. Шатров. He dedicated it to his comrades, fallen during the Russia-Japan war. To listen, go to: Entertainment - Russian Music.

   2006-07-16 - Laura havs added two new learning sections with explanation of "Nominal declension of nouns" and "Adjectives". Go to Learning - Language - Exercise sections 8 & 9.

   2006-07-10 - I have removed the "Internet Content Rating Association" button together with their site rating code from RusLang pages, since they started charging a fee to have a site rated as suitable for minors (no adult content). I beleive, site rating should be based on it's content and not on the ability of the site's webmaster to pay a subscription fee.

   2006-07-04 - I have added links to three sites, where visitors can download music at very reasonable prices (around 10 cents US per song). Personally, I download music from them all the time - it is much-much cheaper than buying CDs and also it absolutely legal. Go to Utilities - Related Sites - Music.

   2006-02-27 - Our Banner Exchange provider has agreed to block adult site banners for us. Therefore, no banners with adult content or with links to adult sites will be shown on RusLang. RusLang has been rated with ICRA as a site with no age restrictions, suitable for all ages.

   2006-02-26 - I decided to join a free banner exchange program to draw more visitors to the site. I have put one banner at the bottom of each page on RusLang; in exchange, my banners will be displayed on other sites. Right now I am negotiating with the banner network administration in attempt to block banners from sites with questionable content (Dating, etc.). If you see any banners of this kind here, please, do not get offended and do not send me complaints: as I am working on blocking these kinds of banners right now. If it does not work out, I will switch to another banner exchange program.

   2006-02-23 - I have fixed a minor bug in the Transliteration converter. It will now show cyrillic characters properly in the translated text. Before, visitors had to manually select the correct encoding. Thanks to *Judit* for the tip.

   2006-02-12 - As the recent contest have shown, 99% of people do not know how Russian numerals are modified according to the twelve "cases" (12 падежей): Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, Instrumental and Prepositional. Even most of the native Russian speakers say "С семьдесят двумя" (which is a mistake !) instead of "С семьюдесятью двумя". The longer the number is, the more mistakes people make. This is why I wrote a simple tool that displays the correct forms of numerals from 1 to 9999. Try it - enter any number within that range and see all 12 forms. This tool will also be accessible from the Utilities and Language manus.
